BirthWatch application content tends towards the practical and physiological. You won't find a lot of fluff here, just sound information to help you prepare for the new addition to your family. We built this app because we believe effective parenting is one of the best ways to improve the world, and parenting begins with pregnancy and birth!

This application was developed by Kim and Pat James, a dynamic duo husband and wife team.
Kim James is a Lamaze International and ICEA certified childbirth educator and a DONA International certified birth doula who has helped prepare hundreds of parents for childbirth. Kim is also certified by DONA International as a doula trainer and trains new doulas at Bastyr University's Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations.
Pat James never met a computer he didn't like and enjoys tinkering with and programming for all types of devices.
Pregnancy and childbirth bring new and sometimes daunting experiences to every parent's life. Our hope with BirthWatch is to help expectant families understand what is happening and how they can prepare to have the birth they want.
We also believe that society and its members benefit from expectant families getting help and support from their network of family and friends. Stronger families result in a stronger society.
Kim and Pat created and own DoulaMatch.net, a doula referral site where you can find and compare birth and postpartum doulas. DoulaMatch.net has over 8,000 active registered doulas and features over 1,000 testimonials from past doula clients. The DoulaMatch doula availability calendar and geographic search helps families narrow their search to the doulas available for their date and who serve their area.
